The Executive Board of Directors, Management and staff of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) heartily congratulate Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi, the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the NITDA Management Team and the entire staff on the 20th Anniversary of NITDA.

The great strides and achievements of NITDA had become legendary. The contributory efforts of NITDA to the economic development of Nigeria has been reported severally across several media platforms. We congratulate NITDA on these giant strides.

It is obvious the committed dedication and hard work of The Honorable Minister, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, FNCS, FBCS, FIIM, MCPN, the former DG/CEO, NITDA and Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi at NITDA have propelled the recent successes witnessed at NITDA.

Whilst reassuring the DG NITDA of the full support of NiRA,  NiRA looks forward to more collaborations with NITDA and witnessing the continued success of NITDA in the years to come.

Once again, congratulations to the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) at 20!

The President also  congratulated members of the Association on the smooth and  successful  holding of its 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held online on 29th of April 2021. The participation of NiRA members at the AGM was commendable and highly appreciated. This AGM was the second virtual AGM whilst the NiRA 13th AGM.  This was an election year and NiRA members are proud to announce once again the successful conduct of its online elections of the new NiRA Executive Board Members. It was a flawless process and appreciated by all. Whilst appreciating and thanking the members whose tenure on the Board ended on the 29th of April 2021, we welcome the elected members to serve in various capacities on the NiRA Executive Board. We continue to appreciate the membership of the NiRA Executive Board, elected by NiRA members to run the affairs of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA). We thank the NiRA Electoral Committee for a job well done.

My immense gratitude and appreciation go to some of the pioneer Board of Trustees (BoT), namely Dr. Adeola Odeyemi (pioneer NiRA BoT Chairman) and Dr. Christopher Nwannenna, who volunteered to step down from the NiRA Board of Trustees level to enable NiRA comply with the new constitution dictate on the number of persons at the BOT level. Mr. Olaleye Alao, too, is no longer on the NiRA BoT.   While the presence and inputs of Dr. Adeola Odeyemi and Dr. Christopher Nwannenna, these two amazing leaders and giants of our industry, would surely be missed at the NiRA Trustees’ level, their contributions as founding members will never be forgotten and we will continue to appreciate their contributions as NiRA members. Our deep appreciation to Dr. Isaac Adeola Odeyemi and Dr. Christopher Nwannenna for their service to the Nation and our dear Association (NiRA), I wish them the very best in all their endeav Thank you, sirs.                               

As NiRA held its 13th AGM, I acknowledged the end of the second year of my tenure as the NiRA President. It has been an awesome experience, a fascinating and fulfilling journey, made all the more so in the last year by the complexities of COVID-19 and the need to strategize with the NiRA Executive Board of Directors to ensure NiRA's long-term viability and performance. I want to seize this opportunity to thank my co-travelers on the NiRA Executive Board for their continuous support and contributions in steering the affairs of NiRA, promoting the growth of NiRA and the .ng brand.

I would also like to express my gratitude to all NIRA members, all stakeholders, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Management and staff, our Registrars and Registrants, the Gentlemen of the Fourth Estate and the NiRA staff. I am grateful to everyone who is contributing to the growth of the .ng brand.

 I sincerely appreciate the NiRA Board of Trustees for their unwavering support, encouragement, and guidance of the affairs of NiRA. Where would we be without our elders?

I enjoin everyone to continue to keep safe and adhere to the NCDC guidelines with respect to the challenges related to the COVID-19. We must do all possible to contain the spread of the coronavirus
